Thomas L. Cooper
CEO Gulfstream Airlines
Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Dear Mr. Cooper

I recently had the pleasant experience of meeting with my son Russ, who is an instrument student at your Gulfstream Academy of Aeronautics in Ft. Lauderdale. Russ was proud to show me around your fine facility. I met with his flight instructors and I was very impressed with their knowledge, "people skills", and their ability to interact with their students. I visited with a few of Russ' classmates in their break room playing pool-each of them was equally proud and excited to be at the Academy.

I was able to visit the Simulators and observe the Instrument Students as they learned new skills and techniques under the close supervision of their instructors. My son eagerly showed me the Weather/Briefing room with the "real time" weather screens and the very business-like Dispatch Office for Gulfstream International Airlines. I was impressed. The entire visit at the Academy was great!

I am a Boeing 777 Line Check Airman at Continental Airlines and I observed many similarities at your Academy to what I have seen evolve at Continental over the last 35 years that I have been a Pilot.

I must say that I am very pleased and proud that my son is a Student at Gulfstream Academy of Aeronautics. The training is certainly up to Airline standards and will teach invaluable skills to Russ and the other graduates of the Academy.

I am also a member of The Pilot Candidate Interview Board at Continental and I have recently interviewed an outstanding candidate who was a Beech 1900 Captain at Gulfstream.

If either I or my son can be of any assistance in helping to publicize your Aeronautical School or help in recruitment in any way I would be delighted to lend my name to that effort.
