FIRST OFFICER PROGRAM

Refresher Course
In preparation for the
entrance exam and
evaluation, Gulfstream Academy requires each student to complete our
Instrument Refresher Course which begins on the first Monday of each
month. The Refresher Course includes 8 hours of ground school, and covers
the AIM, FARS, Jeppesen approach plates, and general instrument procedures. In
addition, each student will receive two, 1.5 hour sessions in the Frasca 142
simulator with an instructor, for a total of 3 hours, in preparation for the
Simulator Evaluation. The cost is Instrument Refresher Course $399, and is not
included in the price of the First Officer Program. Should additional simulator
time be necessary, it can be purchased at The Academy for $75 per hour which
includes an instructor.
Entrance Evaluation
Prior to
final acceptance into the First Officer Program, each student must pass an
entrance exam and simulator evaluation. The entrance exam and sim evaluation are
not intended to be difficult, but were designed to evaluate the student's level
of IFR proficiency. To review the simulation evaluation, a sample sim profile

Should a student be found to have any significant deficiencies, they will not be
admitted into the First Officer Program until these deficient areas have been
demonstrated to meet commercial standards.
Personal Driving Record
All candidates must submit a certified original copy of their
driving record history covering the past ten years(or max available per state).
Applicants who have been convicted of driving under the influence (or the
equivalent), or have receive more than three (3) moving traffic violations in
the past (3) years, may not be accepted for training.
Drug
Screening Exam
All incoming candidates will be required to complete a
drug screening urinalysis within the first two weeks of beginning training and
on an ongoing random basis. It is also Gulfstream International Airlines' policy
to conduct random drug screening of all flight sensitive employees on an ongoing
basis.
Airline Uniforms
Candidates are required to wear uniforms during all
activities. GULFSTREAM ACADEMY will provide the cap insignia, wings and
epaulettes. The student is responsible for furnishing his/her own black cap,
black uniform jacket with the appropriate gold stripes, black pants, black
socks, black tie, black belt, black flight bag and white short-sleeved shirts
with epaulette tabs (button-down shirts or other deviations from standard collar
are not approved). GULFSTREAM ACADEMY will repurchase uniform hats and coats in
good condition with proof of recent cleaning at the completion of the program.

Our students can now work on their degree at their Distance Learning campuses
or On-line through Embry-Riddle.
Classes will count as college credits towards their degree. In addition, any of
the ratings or hours they have earned
at Gulfstream as a student or a pilot on our airline will also be counted
towards their degree
